The Angels are Lost, the poem

And on the day after Christmas,
the angels had nowhere to go,
their message sung, their work done,
they are left with an eternity to see how it all works out.
And so they go their own ways, lost.
Nothing else they will ever do as important
as the moment come and gone,
singing to, of all people, shepherds.
